Although the Megalong Valley is a little further away from the other locations (you’ll need a car), we adore it because so few people choose to travel there.

Metronde, mid-range
In Katoomba, The Metropole is a reasonable option. The blue mountain cottages include private toilets and are warm, cozy, and well-kept. The motel is filled with character in a shabby old way. Although it is the complete opposite of modern, we thought it was enjoyable to stay somewhere a little different.
The town’s restaurants are nearby and easily accessible on foot from this location. The only disadvantage is that parking may be restricted.
Even so, it’s a terrific choice, especially if you take advantage of one of their special offers.

Budget-friendly blue mountain cottages (YHA)
When we simply needed a cheap overnight blue mountain cottage to go hiking on the weekend, the YHA was frequently our first choice in accommodations.
We liked it since you could stay here for not too much money and have a private bathroom while being in the heart of Katoomba. In order to reduce costs, you also have access to a kitchen, and a grocery is just a five-minute walk away.
The showers are excellent, and it’s quite clean. We’ve also been in shared bathroom rooms, and those are also clean.
In case of bad weather, there is a movie room as well as a huge common area with a fire and playing cards.

Although the rooms are quite small for two people and the rooms are fairly boring, it is a reasonable choice for an overnight visit. Traveler dorm beds are also available.

Although the accommodations are standard and what you would expect from a hotel, they are spotlessly clean.

You have a good option because it is only a short walk away if you want to see the Three Sisters lit up at night. We would suggest avoiding breakfast and going into town instead because it isn’t very good.

If you feel that Katoomba and Blackheath are too crowded, this is the spot for you because very few tourists visit the Megalong Valley.
In exchange, you have breathtaking views in a very remote location and the opportunity to witness a variety of local wildlife. Here, kangaroos, wombats, and black cockatoos have all been spotted.
